In 2012, I joined Shanghai Shenhua FC in a season that will be remembered for football in China and around the world. I built a squad that included Didier Drogba, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012. I also built a squad that included Nicolas Anelka, who won the Champions League in 2000 with Real Madrid, and many other players such as Rolando Schiavi, Patricio Toranzo, and Giovanni Moreno. I also worked as an assistant to coaches such as Sergio Batista, who won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with the Argentine national team led by Messi. Shen Xiangfu, the national team coach of the Chinese national team, also led the team with an interim coach.
